Police Picnic
Oh, I forgot to tell you all. Last Saturday the main police station in my city hosted a police picnic and BBQ. Well, we made two car trips and all of us went. Including my mom and brother. We saw lots of new spiffy police cars, police boats, and the SWAT vehicles. We watched the officers rappelling down the side of the building.......that was amazing!
And we watched a police dog in action and had the chance to ask many questions. (The 13 yr old asked TONS of questions....!!) The 11 yr old got to do some rock climbing.....and she played a quiz game about internet safety....(and WON, btw!)
Oh and get this.......they had a paddy wagon. So what the officer was doing was handcuffing you and then you get to sit in the wagon. So before he cuffs me, I ask him if its possible to get out of the cuffs.....and he explains that no, almost everyone can't. Just a very, very few, should they have double jointed thumbs. So he cuffs me, with a little extra twist at the end, and I go sit in the wagon. Looks like a meat freezer in there! But here's the funny part.....I get out of the wagon and guess what I did?
Handed him the cuffs! HAHA! I don't know why....but I got out of them.....He was so surprised! He asked me if I picked them with something......LOLOLOL!! I said no I didn't but I suppose I must have double jointed thumbs!!!
We had a great time......
But here's the real primary reason that I brought everyone there......shhhhh...don't tell, okay? But I read about this picnic on Wednesday.....and one thing caught my eye......
Fingerprinting for the children.
Yeah. So they took a picture of the child, and then took their fingerprints on the same card. I thought this was an excellent thing for me to have. They even gave out free do-it-yourself kits if you wanted to fingerprint yourself at home. So, alhamdulillah, I have the prints for all the children.
And here's an even funnier thing.......when Hubbex took the kids last Sunday, the 13 yr old grabbed one of the do it yourself kits. Gave it to her father.....and HE DID IT! So I've got his prints too.......
And somehow, this just makes me feel better. So we had a great day, and I did a little protection as well. I have more pics, will post them later....

Hubbex did it and thought it was fun. The 13 yr old brought them home and put her fathers FP in her sock drawer. I'll wait about 7 day until she forgets they are there......then I'll put them in my file.......

ASA,
I'm so glad to see things are going well for you and your kiddos. Insha'Allah this is a great start to your new life. And I'm glad you stood up to your daughter about Egypt. How long would it have been before she was calling for a plane ticket back anyway?LOL
