If you've been reading my blog for awhile...you'll know that I have a special relationship with my niece. She's 18 now....but when I first got married she was an adorable little 2 yr old. She grew up around my children more than she was at her own home.....we have many precious moments together.

This moment happened at her house. She was 5 yrs old......her mom was asleep on the couch, and her and I were talking. She says to me....I have new shoes. So I look at her new shoes and I say to her...

I have new shoes, too.

Yeah? Well, I have a big book!

Well, I have a bigger book!

And I can run really fast with my shoes!

Well, I can run faster!

That one stops her......so I think for a moment and tell her....

I have a new barbie!

Well, I have a new barbie too!

This is getting difficult...so I think quick and say....

YA? Well, my mommy is GORGEOUS!

She looks over at her mommy and then turns and says to me...

YA? Well I HAVE TWO BARBIES!

HAHA....I notice my SIL peeking from her supposed sleep....oh boy. I won. But SIL never forgot it.


Drinking non alcoholic wine....

She was 8 yrs old and went to the Wine and Cheese festival with her friend. They had a great time. It wasn't too far from her house. And then while they were there, they found someone selling bottles of non alcoholic wine. OH THIS WORKS!....thought my muslim niece. So her and her friend pooled their money together and bought a bottle.

She called me later about the festival and told me how much fun she had. Then she told me about the non alcoholic wine. Told me that they drank it all the way home. I was concerned! What would people think seeing two 8 yr olds chugging from a wine bottle in the street.....well....she had it all figured out....she says to me...

"Oh, don't worry....we put the bottle in a paper bag and drank it with only the tip showing."

HAHA! For you information...that DID NOT make me feel any better!


Picks me up and then throws me down!!

My 4 yr old comes in the kitchen this morning while I'm washing dishes...she looks at me and says..."Mama,...u so pretty!"

Awwwww. I give her a big hug and a kiss......she starts to walk out....and then she remarks on my ratty hair that hasn't been brushed yet....

"But ur hair is so disgusting..."

JEEZ! You never win!!
