another court date....

I was at the court 45 mins early, so anxious was I. But it wasn't until 11 am that they finally called us in. There were many, many woman there......I wonder if they were all doing support cases as well. It sure seemed like it. I brought along a friend who recently had finished her own support case and it was a good choice. She steered me in the right direction when I didn't know what I should do.

When the ex finally arrived in the hallway, he walked in dressed nicely with MM walking about 2 steps behind him. (Everytime I saw them walking, she was always behind him) He didn't look my way but at one point, MM glanced at me and smiled....I waved at her. (I was laughing behind my eyes happy that it was HER walking with him and not me!)

When we finally go called in, there was some confusion on my part.....the person that I thought was my "lawyer" was in fact, only an assistant. So the ex's lawyer approached me and offered to represent me as well. "pardon me?" I asked....

So he says..."well look, its really an open and shut case, Mr H has no money and it's proven by the documents that he's brought, so if I can represent you, (but I can't advise you), then we can finish this right now.....you both sign papers and we are done"

Excuse me? No thanks, I said....I'll get a lawyer right now. And then he says to me..."well actually, I don't think it will make any difference, the court has lost your paperwork, there was some problem about it, so lets just move forward around this right now."

So I say to the lawyer...ïf they lost my paperwork, why is my name listed outside the courtroom?" To which he starts spouting more BS and I say to him, No thanks, I'm good.

Finally they find the right person I'm to talk to, and I say my piece.....so now the court case will be bumped to July 19th. (you should have seen the ex's face when they said the date....you know he wants to go back to Egypt!!)

I was very tempted to ask him, do you plan on seeing the kids any time soon? But didn't bother...just ignored him. Oh and did I mention how fine I looked? Black pants, black and white blouse, black shoes and my hair just right.

I'm not sure if July 19th can come fast enough!!
