Mom wants us to go camping. Errrrr.....I've never been camping with my children......and the last time I ever went I was a child myself. She's insisting....and so are the kids......
Much to tell.....probably going this weekend......

Mosquito repellent, sleeping bags tent, go early, bring a camera, take sunset and sunrise pictures and of course pics of the kids. It should be fun. I think we are going to the Zoo and the beach this weekend. I think I will start to take pics and put them online in a password protected folder or something. What do you think? I'm edgy about pics of my kids online.

I have never been camping, and the only thing I think about when I hear camping is bugs. Yucky, creepy insects. Lol!

Oh fun, fun, fun. I spent so much time camping as a teenager - loved it - I was the only member of my family that 'got' camping. Sounds like a great time - what an opportunity for the kids - nothing like camping to strengthen the bonds. We should go while I am in town - LOL. I can see it now - two hijabi women trotting around the campfire - LOL.

I went camping 2 weeks ago close to Lake Louise... it was AMAZING!
I would suggest:
1) LOTS of bug repellent
2) LOTS of sunscreen
3) Warm clothes for the night, since it gets chilly (at least if you're going somewhat high)
4) Halal marshmallows to roast in the fire!!

I haven't been camping in several years but used to spend every weekend in summer camping out by some lake or river in the Yukon.
A camera is a must.. so is a spare roll of TP in case there isn't any in the outhouse or you are having to do your business behind a bush.. LOL. Oh and a flashlight for those after dark trips to the WC and an old newspaper to help start that fire burning.
Remember to keep your food and garbage stored properly so as not to attract wild animals into your campsite. I hope you all have a safe and wonderful time Safa.

Have a great time camping. Def. take alot of bug spray. My husband and I spend our whole summer camping, and have a blast. But one thing Ontario is known for is its wondeful bugs. So def. make sure u are all well coated. They even dare to bite through clothes and hejabs. Where abouts r you going camping? Im going camping this weekend and all of next week inshallah. Im sure all the kids will have a blast!! At night it gets extremely cold though, so make sure everyone has jackets, and enjoy the racoons!!!

Animal Planet had a show on fatal black bear attacks. Creepy. I'm assuming you are going to be in a more populated area.
