Straining, training and oftentimes refraining......

Straining
~~~~~~~
I've been playing hopscotch across the clouds.....
....picking up my golden rock and throwing it wherever it may land....and then carefully hopping from one cloud to yet another.... What a wonderful game!! I feel like I'm constantly on a high......and yes....the wind still blows thru my hair.
Oh sure.....life has it's ups and downs....but I'm meeting them head on. My new relationship is going extremely well. Sjon is a talker. (yes, his name is Sjon) We talk about so many things....discussing this and discussing that. It makes our journey so much more informed. Suddenly I'm a person who matters and who has feelings and is loved.
I have to catch myself sometimes when I see myself straining to hear those other voices. Just the whispers, u know? I have come to accept the person that I am is a result of what I've been thru.
TRAINING
~~~~~~~~~

It's going great! I'm doing a good job with the training. I've met 2 new people that I really like at work. Nice to make new friends....

REFRAINING
~~~~~~~~~~~
Hmmmm.....the refraining needs a post of its own.....
~~~~~~~~~~~

So the imam that was helping me with the Khula suddenly calls and wants to offer me marriage. WTH??? He offers me a 3 month marriage of Muttah. Or Misyar. *gag* My belief in the supposed leaders of Islam is really waning. My religion deserves better than this. And to make matters worse.

When I rejected the offer, I was then asked if I knew anyone else who might be interested..... *GAG again*

What an ass!!!

Yay for clouds. Yikes for imam. But sadly not out of keeping with the notion that only virgins or married women need to be treated with respect.

I thought misyar was Sunni and can't have a preset time limit? What denomination is this imam?

WHAT A PIG!

The Muslims won't improve until Muslimahs refuse to put up with the bullshit anymore. Obviously, Muslim men have lost the thread and as long as Muslimahs continue to accept the disgusting perverted way Muslim men are shaping the religion, nothing will change.

Honestly, it makes me ill. But on the other hand, so happy, you are not buying into it anymore.

Love you,
PM

That imam story is SO GROSS! How disrespectful.... [pulls out hair]

Misyar, eh? Had to look it up... sez wikipedia:

"Islamic scholars like Ibn Uthaimeen or Al-Albani claim, for their part, that misyar marriage may be legal, but not moral... on the grounds that it contradicts the spirit of the Islamic law of marriage and that it has perverse effects on the woman, the family and the community in general.

For Al-Albani, misyar marriage may even be considered as illicit, because it runs counter to the objectives and the spirit of marriage in Islam, as described in this verse from the Quran :

'And among His Signs is this, that He created for you mates from among yourselves, that ye may dwell in tranquillity with them, and He has put love and mercy between your (hearts)…'[9] "

I have a question for you, and it's kind of been burning inside of me for a while.

You have always maintained that your ex was a good/loving husband before he got another wife. I asked you this question a long time ago, but I'm wondering if you've gotten a different perspective since moving out on your own and seeing how another man acts firsthand.

So, has your opinion changed or do you still agree with that original statment. Of course, you don't have to answer that. I'd appreciate it you could though :)

I puked in my mouth a little bit with the imam story. I can't stand that these disrespectful men "run" the religion and I'm so tired of it!

Glad your relationship and job are going well. It's so nice to read that happiness!

SubhanAllah! What a weird and twisted IMAM!!! And i use that last word lightly....

Masha'Allah can you send over some of that happy juice so i can join you in the clouds? Sounds wonderful!!!! Very beautifully writ. As for training good for you to have new friends! Do you visit them outside of work or is it just an inside work frendship?
Refraining ...hmmm... look forward to that post...

Masha'Allah I'm glad you are so happy after such a harsh few years for you.
