That's the best answer I have. Basing this on the belief that God is unchanging, if a door goes against what is clearly a characteristic or quality or will of his, then the door is false.
I'm curious about details though. :D

When it's just a mirage perhaps....chattels of deception. Especially ones adorned with silver and gold...bidding you to take the false move through it, the move that will be wrought with pain and suffering.

Its what you make of what you are seeing.......ie its not a door, but you hope it is.
All doors have the same function. You are just opening and closing and then finding another one. Until you come to one, only to find that it isnt what you wanted or hoped for. Its not another door for you to open.
You have got so used to the routine of opening and closing doors: you just automatically reach your hand for the next one. Until you realise that this isnt a door.
Its that moment in time, you blink, look hard at whats in front you, and your conscience wakes up.
Did your heart really believe that its another door? or with the routine of having to open them all the time, you absent mindedly thought it was the same as all the rest?
