here I am.....
On the last day of Eid....two of the four brothers showed up. It was the two that I expected. I called my SIL downstairs that morning and told her that if anyone was going to show up....that I'd be making dinner for them, and for her not to worry about it. So I kinda cheated in the morning and fried up a bunch of fish....egyptians love fried fish when it's cold.....so I said...that'll leave the rice and that won't be so hard!!! So later on....one of the SIL's from Cairo called and said they were coming....so the rice got done right away and salads made. It was nice with them arriving and me telling them.....lets sit down and eat...you guys look hungry!! I mean, come on...how many times do you have the chance to say that and not have to wait a couple of hours until you finish making it?
My BIL downstairs wasn't around....he was at work.....so my SIL came up and everyone ate. And then....oh yeah.....and then.....the gossip started. He said....she said....you did....they did. HOLY CROW! At least I figured out a few things......EVERYONE talks about me behind my back. Me and My LIFE.....which sucks at the moment, prolly makes for juicier gossiping. That got me down. I don't like hearing stuff like that.
My one BIL said over and over, how much hubby loves me.....and how he's really screwed up this time and that he's paying for it. For me to just be patient and thing will come back this way. So I asked him....how can you advise me like that...to be patient....when Allah has set the rules and guidelines for my Hubby's marriage choices and he's not fulfilling them? He's only seen his kids for a total of 3 1/2 months out of 12 months.....the shortest amount of time we've ever seen him.....and you are telling me to be patient? And never mind the polygyny....how about that you aren't supposed to leave a woman longer than 2 mos on her own.....??? I think that you should be pressuring your brother into being a fair person if you truly fear ALLAH.
But hey....that was some of the conversation....I basically just sat back and was the good host. The visit finally ended. The girls had gone for a huge walk with all their cousins....a group of some 8 girls. They walked over to their other cousins house who has just gotten married 3 mos ago to wish her a happy Eid. You KNOW they made her day.
But THANK GOD that is over with!!

So about Friday with my American friend.
It was sooooo nice. We had a nice 45 min drive to her place.......took our time. And we got there and sat around for a bit waiting for the others that she had invited to show up. Finally the other canadian showed up. We had a nice time with her. She's a convert to islam with two daughters....her little 3 yr old was a gem. The 6 yr old was sort of bossy....but my kids taught her who is the boss from the get go.
I had a great time with both of them....so nice to meet another cdn....who is from Montreal BTW....and get this....Native Indian background...like me! She's Cree. I think that was the best surprise.....of course I texted my mom on the way home and told her that I met a Cree indian woman who converted to islam.....my mom sent me back.... WHY DID SHE CONVERT?? LOLOL!! Which I hadn't asked her...subhanAllah. But that was good to send to my mom....Native indians convert to islam Mom....not just me. You can do it too!

One of the. . .ahem. . .many joys of an extended family is the dinnertime "conversation" of who did what to whom. My first in-law get together was so totally overwhelming with all the yelling and arm waving going on that I was absolutely convinced that everyone was fighting. DH explained that was just normal Egyptian conversation, LOL!

oh yeah....they sure are loud and expressive. Passionate is the word I like to use! Thanks for checking in on my mizazeez!
I have a question.....does anyone know what happened to muslimmommie? It seems like she's deleted her blog......and she didn't tell me she was leaving.....any ideas?

LOL at the comment above, I am so sure my husband is screaming half the time, but like she said, it is just "normal" conversation.
