being a family....

Sometimes we just need those visual representations to make us remember who we are. Perhaps its an ayat of Quran in your formal living room, or a picture of Buddha in the kitchen....for us, it is something else.

It was really Cleo's idea.....about a year ago, she started talking about a "family canvas".......where friends and family would put a handprint on a blank canvas and we'd get to proudly display it in our stairwell.

So that's what we've done.....we started it last weekend and its wonderful. Instead of displaying it in the stairwell, we have it in the front entrance. We even painted the cat's paws and printed them on it! (although they are not too amused!)

Did I tell you about our new addition to the family? His name is Caramel......the sweetest friendliest cat on earth.....

The family circle....

You might notice that our circle isn't closed. We've left a spot for Noora's hand. It just wouldn't be complete without it. Since I've taken these pics we've already added a few prints.....I'll take a picture of how it looks now in the next couple of days.
