Mohawks of Akwesasne...

I finally sent off my paperwork claiming my status as a native indian.

My mother is full status. I applied once in 1999 but the Indian Affairs office asked me for a marriage search on my Grandfather who lived in the states for a period of 10 years. I never did that search. So this time I sent off the paperwork for the second time, cross referencing all my mothers info which I have had since I arrived in 2008, but never sent off.

It felt good putting that letter in the mail. Should I be eligible it means great possibilities.

Ya Rab!

That's cool! Your kids look so Egyptian compared to mine, I think it's your native blood in there too. I'm so pasty white lol.

So what exactly will happen if this is approved? Will it help you out financially?

Was your mom full-blooded, or how much Native are you? I know we (in the US) call them Native Americans but in Canada I'm not sure what you call them, just Natives?
