Saving our lives.......
My daughter was calling me from her room in a strained whisper. "Mama....can you come here??"
What the heck?? The rest of us are sitting in the living room. "Come out here!!" I yelled back.....
again the strained whisper...."I need you to come here!" The 12 yr old walks over...."why are you whispering?" And then suddenly...."AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"""""
I jump off the chair in the livingroom....WHATSTHEMATTER???? And see a rat run by. He sees me and runs under the diningroom table..... My 10 yr old jumps up on the chair....my husband quickly pulls his feet up on the chair he's sitting on. And I just stand there and say.....OK....I'll take care of it.
So I start moving things outta my way....my 12 yr old gets me a wooden stick. And I move the table a bit....he runs out and goes behind the niche. I move the niche a bit...and smack it with the stick....and HERE HE COMES!!
As he goes to run by me, I smack him with the stick...and get him good. He goes flying thru the air and lands.....I run over and smack him with the stick AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN.....and then my 15 yr old starts screaming..."MAMA!!!! MAMAAAAAA!!! STOP IT! STOP IT!" I come out of my daze and look at her.....what??
She tells me...you got it...that's enough. So I look down at the mouse....he's not dead...but he's severely beaten....breathing hard......I grab his tail and throw him off the balcony. Done. I dealt with the situation.
I wash my hands. I go back to folding laundry. The kids and their father talk excitedly about how I caught the mouse. And then I say to them...don't I deserve something special for this? And send them out to get me some pop and some sweets. I laughed.
Hubby went to go get the sweets with 2 of the kids......and after he left......the oldest comes over to me and asks me if I"m okay. Ya...I'm fine...why? She says..."Mama....you had the scariest look on your face when you were smacking the mouse.....I thought you weren't going to stop"
I've got issues......

Salam alaikoum
You know, you just won super mommy award (not that you haven't before)...I mean think about it, your kids were freaking, you swooped in and reacted and saved the day and then went back to folding laundry. You can do it all Safa. Macha Allah!

LOL at Marigold's comment. She has a point. Sometimes I must admit that I feel there is more than one "rat" in your house that you need to go ballistic on. LOL....
12:27 PM
The real rat was the one who picked up his feet and sat there and did nothing...while you handled the mouse in your house.

Safa...remb how we always talk about signs? See even your hubby did not know want to deal with the mouse...you had to step in and take care of it...you after some running around took care of it...see what I am trying to say?
U took care of the Mouse!!

Wow..in Egypt can you really do that..just kill a rodent and throw it off the balcony?? I can't imagine doing that in Canada..you would be breaking some law or something..lol

Can anyone blame you?? Sometimes beating something just... does it for ya, ya know? Allows the agressions to escape in a somewhat normal and less harmful way.
Stay strong, and HUGS!!

LOL @ the more than one rat...
No problem throwing it off the balcony....it landed in the garden....we looked in the morning and he was gone....well...half gone.
Ya, he picked up his feet while I dealt with the situation....Safa saves the day....again!
And yes...it was a sign!
Rain.....it was totally satisfying....LOLOL!!
