The Aqeeqa
Masha Allah! The aqeeqa went well yesterday. Most of hubby's family showed up early and spent the afternoon at my house. We had a great time. (the brother who isn't talking to us didn't come.....) But everyone else was there!
We had a lazy afternoon together, everyone exclaiming over Precious Baby's shaved hair.....oh yes.....it's sunnah.....and I did it after Fajr. I was so surprised at my little man. All the girls cried thru the whole process....but not him! He was wide awake and watched me constantly without a tear falling from his eyes! Masha Allah!
In the early evening.....the older girls walked over to the mosque to start setting things up......and us older women made our way over before Maghrib. I got a drive over, although the mosque is really close....but I was worried to over do it.
The menu consisted of boiled lamb meat, capsca rice, vegetables cooked in tomatoe sauce, salad, pickles and sweets for desert. Almost 300 ppl showed up at the mosque...invited or not. Masha Allah! And we fed them all! We also brought food to 2 other mosques and distributed it there. May Allah accept it! Ameen!
The rest of the evening was hurried as family was getting ready to go home and we spent just a last hour together. It was nice being all together......Hubby looked happy to have his brothers and sister beside him.
It was a great time....all enjoyed.....alhamdulillah!

As Salaamu Alaikum Safa!
Alhamdulillah that you had a good time. I'm surprised you didn't cry while shaving your babies head. I was so sad when my hubby cut Yusuf's hair, and I hope he doesn't cut this babies hair too low. But Masha'Allah it is the sunnah, and it will grow back. I just hate that I'm in the U.S. and everyone wants to know why my babies head is bald. So annoying. Sounds like you had a wonderful time though.

I didn't cry while shaving baby.....and neither did he! Keep a hat on baby when born! Oh......one thing to make sure...is that ur hubby doesn't shave their forehead.....even tho their might be hair there, that's not supposed to be shaved.....
