We are soldiers.....

Assalaamu alaikum, Soldiers of Allah....
Have you ever thought of yourselves this way? Have you ever said these words to yourself? Perhaps during the fajr prayer, the thought may have come to your mind....for surely in the Fajr we feel closer to Allah.....
This thought came to me today about us being soldiers here in dunya. And just now I googled the explanation of the word "war".....it says..
"A state of open, armed, often prolonged conflict carried on between nations, states, or parties. A period of conflict"
Yes, a period of conflict. That's what we should be thinking when living on earth. That we are constantly fighting conflicts. Our own "mini jihad"......where we strive to please Allah and to do our duties as muslims here, while there are so many shayateen trying to make us do otherwise. Isn't this fitting, my friends? And here we are, as muslims, striving to be better people.......are we taking others on our mission? We should be. This is not a solitary journey.....a war cannot be won as individuals.....why do we have a muslim ummah? Why is the community so important to us? Why do we receive so many rewards for praying jamaa'a? Remember the hadith?
"prayers according to Mazhab Shafie, it is Sunat Muakkad, based on Hadith Rasulullah: Praying in congregation is better that praying individually 27 times. (Sahih Bukhari and Muslim). Some scholars treat it as Fardu Kifayah to pray in congregation."
Yes, my precious friends.....we are soldiers here. Truly we aren't wearing helmuts, and carrying guns.....No, not us humble warriors. As muslims we have a weapon that is feared across all parts of the world.....across Asia, Egypt, United States, Canada .......you name it. And during this glorious month of Ramadan, we must turn to that weapon over and over again. We must breathe that weapon, as if the very air around it could permeate our being inside and make us wholesome and pure..... We must stand before Allah, while those shayateen are chained....and SHOUT that weapon....!!!!!! Do you know what I'm talking about?? Wallahi, you have to know what I'm talking about....say it...
Al Quran al Kareem!
Al Quran al Kareem!
(....are you shouting it in your heart? On your lips?)
Al Quran al Kareem!
Yes, Soldier of Allah.....this is your weapon.....the road to your salvation is hidden inside this Quran. It was a gift that Allah sent to us to guide us.....and truly.....we have been blessed.
So strive hard in your mini jihad.....kick dunya to the curb......and hold on to your salvation...this month only has 30 short days and we would be foolish to waste it. Allah has blessed us.....are you thankful? Do you make sujuud to Allah and thank him? Believe me, I do it for all of you.....Allah sees my heart. I am so thankful to have my blogger friends......I love what you all love and I thank Allah for putting this love into my heart.......Alhamdulillahi rabbila alameen!!
So go out today, Soldiers of Allah.....and when you pray Taraweeh, do your jihad.....stand before Allah as if you have no clothes and everyone can see your soul..........make your prayer carefully....follow the imam with care.....elbows in....eyes down....bend your back.....dont move until the imam moves....concentration very intense....say at tashaahud carefully letting each sound roll off your tongue.....very intense....and when the prayer is finished and you are saying salaam.....it should be with such sadness.....you are ending your conversation with Allah.... Be anxious to start again.....feel that passion about your prayer, my friends.....feel that love of goodness.....For surely.....you are soldiers.....and wallahi...I want you to win this war......
Loving you all for the sake of Allah,
Safa

Wishing your family a very happy ramadan!
It would be interesting to read later your experience of the difference of both fasting and eid in Canada as opposed to Egypt.
Hugs!
Kafira (slacking off from her soldier duties cos she thinks Safa is one of this worlds most wonderful and admirable persons!)
