Apple picking on a saturday.....
Do you know that feeling when you love someone very much and find yourself unable to disappoint them? It's where you would do anything for them, where you'd sacrifice your own happines for them....it's where you just want to make them smile and know that you put that on their lips. Yes, this is how I love. I love too hard.
I love my mother this way. I bring her all sorts of delicacies to eat .......I cook the things that I know she likes.....when I go grocery shopping, I buy what she wants.....and even more than that.....I go out of my way to please her.
It was Friday night when she told me she wanted to go apple picking with us all.
Sigh. I had all these reasons pop in my head why we can't go.....
-Ramadan is on Monday!
-school is on Tuesday!
-I have laundry to do!
-the kids dressers needs to be organized before school!
-I want to prepare some quick dishes to put in the freezer!
-there are still school supplies to buy!
......my list could go on and on.....and yet......
I look into the face of my mother.....older now.....so much grey in with what used to be gloriously black hair..... I see the etch lines of laughter around her eyes, and wonder at taking her happiness from her.....sigh.
And in just that moment.....I look up at her and say what I know she so desperately wants me to say......confirmation of her importance in the pecking order of things.....I say to her....
"Okay Mom....lets go apple picking..."

Looks like you had a wonderful day - great weather for apple picking. Sometimes we need to take time out of our oh so busy schedules to 'play' - glad to hear that you did this for your mom. And what are you going to do with all the apples.
I have booked my ticket - will be arriving in Terminal 3 at LBP Airport on Sept. 10 - leaving on Sept. 18 - so stock up on that A&W root beer - LOL.

Safa,
A beautiful Ramadan start, don't you think? Your mom looks really cute (tell her!) and I am glad you had a good time.
But what really caught my attention: LOOK AT THE BOY WALKING! :) Masha'Allah he's grown so much. How are your girls doing? Specially the 13 year old? Insha'Alkah Ramadan will bring peace and blessings to all of you.
Big hugz!

Ramadan Kareem, ya Safa! Life is good. Make time to pick the apples. :)

Masha'Allaah, you look just like your mama. Enjoy the fresh apples! In some parts of the world, people can only get imported apples which are stale, brown, sandy looking & tasting on the inside.
