Go get your shovel.....

.....cause we are dishing the dirt!!!! HAHAHAHA!!

Ah well....sorry to get your hopes up......none to dish. Although after thorough discussion, Maureen and I realized that sometimes people can see things from different perspectives and completely misinterpret the way of things. So I guess that because she showed me....ahem....something....the day after she arrived, just might not go over well with the general public..........so we'll just have to keep that to ourselves......HAHAHA!! (can you guess?)

Anyhoo......we had a great time. Spent every day out of the house and yet at the same time, managed to keep the kids in line, doing their homework and brushing their teeth. (Mr Precious was an excellent baby, Masha Allah.......and seems to really enjoy playing with Tante Maureen!! He was caught flirting with her on more than one occasion, and I heard something about them possibly taking a shower together, but I had to stop it there, but alas....not before her husband caught word of it!! OOPS!)

The girls loved having Tante around. I was looking for a muzzle for my inquisitive yet grumpy 12 yr old....(no luck there!).....and basically, no one could really get a word in edgewise because my "bouncy" girl wouldn't stop talking. (and following us all around AND getting stuck on a word.....HE, HE, HE, HE, HE.....DARNIT, SAY IT ONE TIME!!!!!!)

We had lots of good laughs......and there are many special funny moments to share...but rather than post them all....I'm just going to give some keywords. Maureen will know EXACTLY what I'm talking about!!!

*scenic routes
*you have a great body if only.......
*QUICK! He's doing his elephant impression again!
*saluting the germans!
*Excuse me....but ummmm.....is your friend fasting?
*Safa says, "WE ARE. WE ARE. WE ARE."
*Maureen says..."WE ARE.......going there now." (and it turned out she was right! Go figure...)
*ya....well it started with Kung Fu Fighting.....and then it ended with Britney Spears.
*He ran right into a brick wall, got up and dusted himself off and walked away like his crap smells like roses!!!
*seat belts everyone!! (puh-lease, we are in EGYPT woman!)
*bought a turkey, which was silly cuz afterwards we realized that the city was swarming with tons of them for free!!! (HAHA!! Maureen knows what I mean!)
*no ice cream
*no deep freezer (ya, which we find out AFTER climbing up 4 flights of stairs!)
*lots of cadbury chocolates (which she hid in the bedroom really well, cuz we searched for them every time she went to the bathroom and we still couldn't find them!!!)
*Who said shopping?
*Lesson of the day.....4L of water after 9pm isnt particularly a great idea and severely interrupts regular sleep patterns.....(hehehehe)
*....so lets say you are in the shower, and unexpectedly someone opens the door on you......?????
*realizing that my "mercedes and scooters" joke reflects on me.....I'm the mercedes and hubby's on the scooter......(did you think about that??)
*and of course, the REAL reason why I opened the car door to let out the flies....AHEM!!!

Anyhoo.....that's everything in a nutshell. At least what I can think of now.....I didn't mention anything about the good food, great conversation or general nuttiness. In fact, we didn't get home till 2:30 am yesterday........HAHAHA!! Can you guess what we were doing??

SubhanAllah!! Kafira and Sadiyah! How ironic that you both comment today after one another!

Would you believe that very recently BOTH of your names were together in ONE very well worded email recently?

It appears that I've lost what I thought was a good friend because she can't accept harsh judgement by commentors. She mentioned one of your names, I mentioned the other. I expressed my pleasure about the hard knocks that you preached and that didn't sit well with her.

Oh well.....but I'll say it again, and I couldn't care less what anyone thinks.....every person is entitled to their own opinion....and if I choose to blog, and open up comments.....I invite the whiners, the suck ups and yes....even the trolls to have their say there.

Sometimes there are people who will tell you EXACTLY how they see it......and it may piss us off to the sky.....but so what?

We've got to be mature enough to handle ANY opinion, and take what we need from the view point. If you don't want an opinion, don't blog.

I respect BOTH of your opinions, Kafira and Sadiyah.....even if you've come across as TOUGH, MEAN and TROLLISH.

LOL!!! New times and new friends.......I'm so glad that you both are reading.....

I think Maureen has a tattoo of an anchor on her butt. She got in when she was in the Navy. Am I right?

If you don't mind trollish comments, then I guess I can start commenting.

PS. Just a word of warning: If you don't like my comment or are hurt by it, please delete the comment, not your post. :-)

I will take full responsibility for being a Troll, they come from my country.
Safa, I could pull out all my most wonderful superlatives for you, but it will take too much space so I will leave it at my thoughts that you ar a woman most extraordinare!
I have no idea how bitchy Sadiyah have been, but do know how harsh I can be.
My life is tough, so I need to be tougher.
As I do not believe in a soul and my heart is just an organ for pumping blood, I will suffise to say that parts of my brain has been permanently damaged due to my Hardass life. Certain areas will never ever come to life again, sadly, whilst others have had a birth, making me who I am today.
I have a temper, a long fuse, but when it blows you can hear it in the mountains.
Thats how I came in contact with Trolls, they came to tell me to take it down a notch so they could get some peace.
Safa, you are so beautiful inside out that you touch whomever reads you and the person who has you as a friend is very very lucky.
You have let me and apparently Co-hardass Sadiyah to air our views, to take it or leave it.
I suppose it is an outlet also for those of us who do not dare/want our hardships out there.
Reading your blog has given me perspective on my own hardships and made me pick myself up at several times. Thank you again!
For those few ones who were up at other times then me, or are astute enough to see my ignorance with blogging, in the words of Karen Walker, "FYI, I hurt too."
I just don't see a point in sharing my hardass life with the world, it will change nothing for me or in me. I am this way for the remainders of my days.
I have been hurt on Safa's behalf, its the reason why I keep on reading and have commentened, because I care and hope to see happiness for her and her family, although my initial reading was merely spurred my by interest in women living with polygony.
I hope to see Safa and her family happy by any means, by any tools, but it is up to her to choose wich ones she will use.
Thank you Safa, you have a heart the size of an ocean or perhaps two.
I hope your friend rethinks the enourmous loss of you as a friend just because you are tough enough to handle more then she is willing.
We all have diffirent boundries, mine is much more narrow then the both of yours.

Anonymous friend of Safa, do you really want my existence (I can not talk on behalf of Sadiyah.) to cause a rift between you?
What do you gain by giving me such power, a power I am very much upset to read that you give me.
I am far away in the mountains, unaware, untouched by your drifting apart.
I am not worth loosing Safa as a friend, no matter how hard Sadiyah kicks keister with me, will it ever be a gain for you to loose her over the existance of us?
Kick us in the keister and kiss and make up, please.
I am guessing who it is now, and you give me no power on your blog, so why let me stretch into your life?

I am so happy to see you laughing it up Safa, I am crossing fingers and legs that it will last. I hope you will laugh your way into eternity, together with all your family and friends of diffirent boundries.

Men come and go, na? Friends are forever, don't let no man, woman nor troll come between you.

Tante means aunt in norwegian too :-)

I have stopped posting here and will probably not post again as a respons, I have said my share I guess, so all left to do is to wish you and yours a very very happy Eid Safa.

Ya, I think you've guessed right Kafira. I'm SO amazed and surprised that the both of you commented after one another......what is the chance of that???

Thanks for being a hard ass and telling me things the hard way when I really needed a smack in the mouth.

Cairogal: I thought it was an umbrella....

So Tante means Aunt in German, Norwegian and Arabic.....and possibly french? WOW!

I dont let too many people or goats sneak over my bridge...@ troll reference.

I only have this to say. Safa knows something about me, the way I live my life and concerns close to my heart. She also knows what I wish for her and her family and all women. On the basis of this, she makes a judgement call on how much she wants to know what makes my mind tick. Vice versa, I make a judgement call too. Fair enough?

I hope that we are all mature people who realise that we each have VERY independent and VERY seperate acquaintanceships (is that a word?), friendships and meeting of the minds with all the different people we come across in life. Anything less would be a travesty and a waste of our innate powers of good judgement.

When comments are open on a public blog, by implication comments and opinions are being sought. Therefore it is fine for people to put forth thier point of view. It is upto the writer of the blog to excercise control over... either publishing comments... or thier reaction to comments. One or the other is to be controlled. Quite simple?

If I have a specific point of view then I am not diffident about putting it across. I do not sugarcoat and obsfuscate but put everything in very direct language. The internet being a expressionless medium, really does not require more layers of insincere or superflous politeese to further confuse the point of view being presented. I do not hesistate to criticise, praise or raise other pertinent questions. Along with this, I strive to provide alternatives and solutions.. if they are sought.

I can guess who Safa speaks about, but frankly, does it even matter?

Folks who care to know me, understand the sincereity of my words. I think Safa and some others do!

It is really quite a small storm in the biggish teacup of our short lives.

Carry on the good fight in life Safa!

Ahhh, you worded it so well safa...

If you want to blog about your life so that anyone can see and you have it open so anyone can comment, then please be strong enough to handle what comes with that. Not everyone is going to agree with you,and frankly i dont see why anyone would want it that way...all the time.
Its too bad you lost a "friend" ,Allahu alim....

And Tante means aunt in French...like maquillage (they say it in Sudan and I always thought they said it in Egypt too.

This is so off topic but my grandma was norwegian so my husband just loves calling me a troll. Funny, he doesn't laugh so much when I call him a barbary macaque...they're from Algeria so same thing, right? They gank food from people, so they even have something in common with him.
