Who said cannibalism is bad??

I just had to share this with you all....sheesh....in all my frustrated glory, my 11yr old darling had me LAUGHING today.

We watched this stupid cannibal movie yesterday...well, really, she started watching it, and I got there halfway...so my daughter explains to me that this guy believes that when he eats the flesh of another person that he takes his strength and his soul into his own body. So being part native indian, I tell her....sounds like something Grandma would believe, being indian and all. So little 11 yr old looks at me and says....well, actually, an indian man told him that, that's why he started eating people.

So we watch the rest of the movie together, the rest of the girls come join us....lots of suspense, and we are pretty much caught up in it. So after the movie, I feel that I should talk about cannibalism and weird indian beliefs.....so that's just what we do. We discuss it pretty good all around and as we are flipping channels on the boob tube to watch something else...my 11 yr old says, "If I had to eat someone, I would. I wouldn't want to die". Wait a second here....u'd actually eat them?

"Oh yeah", she says. But here's her little quirk in the concept....she doesn't think it would be so good to be just eating people here and there....she'd rather attack an entire family, because that would be more humane. WHAT? Is there a humane side to eating people? Well, she says, if u eat an entire family, u only hurt THEM, but when u eat people here and there, u hurt so many people. Hmmmmmm.....I never thought of it.

So that had me laughing yesterday....but WHAT did she say to have me laughing today? Well, I asked all the girls this question...."if you know u were going to be stranded on a desert island and could take three people with u, who would u take?"

My 9 yr old said.."I'd take Mama, Baba and my 3 yr old sister"

My 14 yr old said.."I'd take Mary Poppins, Mama and the jungle boy"

My 11 yr old said.."I'd take Mama, Baba and a really fat guy" YUM! And she licked her lips.

Oh man......I took one look at her and said, I sure would hate to be stuck on an island with u. I don't think I could live with that fear.......needless to say, she promised never to eat me.

Well, not unless she really had to, and...ummmm.... I was already dead.
